Jakarta, 30 September 2026 The Faculty of Social Sciences and Law, Universitas Negeri Jakarta (FISH UNJ), showcased a range of community engagement outputs from several study programs at the FISH booth during the 2026 National Seminar on Community Engagement (SNPPM 2026). Carrying the theme “Building Empowered Communities through Impactful Community Engagement,” the event was held on Wednesday, 30 September 2026, at the Latief Hendraningrat Hall, Dewi Sartika Building, 2nd Floor, UNJ Campus A.

SNPPM 2026 served as a platform for sharing community engagement outcomes while strengthening the governance of community engagement initiatives across UNJ. Chair of the SNPPM 2026 Organizing Committee, Dr. Iwan Setiawan, M.Pd., expressed his hope that the event would generate broader benefits.

“We hope that SNPPM 2026 will not only result in scholarly publications but also deliver meaningful impact to society,” he said.

UNJ Rector Prof. Dr. Komarudin, M.Si., officially opened the event by striking a gong and encouraged the university community to strengthen its commitment to community engagement.

“Let us carry out community engagement not merely as a form of dissemination, but also by strengthening its governance so that it can create tangible impact for both society and the university,” he emphasized.

The event began with participant registration at 8:30 a.m. WIB, followed by the Indonesian national anthem and UNJ March, a prayer, and an opening dance performance. Following remarks from university leaders, participants joined a group photo session involving representatives of the university leadership, including the Board of Trustees, University Senate, deans, and the Director of the Postgraduate School. The program continued with a video presentation highlighting UNJ’s community-based village initiatives as examples of the university’s engagement with local communities.

At the FISH booth, visitors had the opportunity to explore community engagement outputs from three study programs. The Civic Education (PPKn) Study Program presented a court simulation board game designed to help participants understand courtroom procedures and the roles involved in judicial proceedings through an interactive learning experience, making legal concepts more accessible and easier to understand.

Following the plenary session, SNPPM 2026 continued with an arts performance, participant briefing, and a lunch and prayer break. From 12:40 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. WIB, participants attended parallel sessions facilitated by the organizing committee and moderators before the event officially concluded. Amid the packed program, the FISH booth attracted participants by presenting community engagement outputs that could be directly seen, experienced, and read.

Through its participation in SNPPM 2026, FISH UNJ demonstrated how community engagement outcomes can be transformed into resources that remain useful beyond the completion of field activities. The learning media, visual materials, and books displayed at the booth provide opportunities to disseminate knowledge generated through community engagement to the wider public, students, and educators. These formats also make educational content more accessible to community needs, including materials that introduce legal processes in ways that are easier for the public to understand.

The development of these outputs involved communities and partners, ensuring that the knowledge generated through community engagement extends beyond the university environment. The resulting collaborative outputs can subsequently be reused in educational and community settings. These efforts align with SDG 4 (Quality Education) through the provision of accessible learning resources and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) through initiatives that enhance public understanding of legal processes. The involvement of various stakeholders also supports SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by fostering collaboration between universities, communities, and partners. At the institutional level, these collaborative outputs also contribute to IKU 5, which emphasizes the broader utilization and impact of higher education outputs. Moving forward, FISH UNJ expects these community engagement initiatives and their outputs to continue developing and reaching wider communities.
