"SMALL ACT BIG IMPACT" AS A BLOOD DONATION EVENT HELD ROUTINELY BY KSR PMI UNJ

The Indonesian Red Cross Volunteer Corps of Universitas Negeri Jakarta (KSR PMI UNJ) held its first blood donation program under the theme “Small Act Big Impact” on Monday, May 18, 2026, at Bung Hatta Hall, 2nd Floor, Postgraduate Building, Universitas Negeri Jakarta. The blood donation program successfully accommodated around 200 donors from various backgrounds, including members of the public, educators, and UNJ students. Before entering Bung Hatta Hall, donors were directed to the registration area to complete their personal data and undergo weight measurement as part of the eligibility requirements for blood donation. Afterward, donors were invited to enter the blood donation room and follow the instructions from the committee members on duty.

The Faculty of Social Sciences and Law, Universitas Negeri Jakarta (FISH UNJ), also participated in this blood donation activity as a form of support for humanitarian initiatives within the campus environment. FISH UNJ’s participation reflects the faculty’s commitment to fostering social awareness, solidarity, and the spirit of mutual cooperation among the academic community. Through its involvement in activities such as this, FISH UNJ not only contributes to academic development but also takes part in meaningful actions that provide direct benefits to the wider community, particularly for those in need of blood transfusions.

The event began with remarks from Yuana Natalia, Chairperson of KSR PMI UNJ for the 2022–2026 period, followed by remarks and the official opening by Achmad Lutfi from the Student Affairs Division. In his remarks, Achmad Lutfi explained that the blood donation program organized by KSR PMI UNJ is held regularly every year to help people who need blood donations according to their blood type.

“Blood is very important for those in need, such as people who have experienced accidents or patients who require blood transfusions during treatment. Therefore, this program is highly beneficial, and I would like to thank all donors who attended and willingly contributed their blood. May we all receive blessings from God Almighty,” said Achmad Lutfi.

Yuana also shared several important things donors should do before and after donating blood, such as maintaining a healthy diet, avoiding excessive physical activity, refraining from consuming certain medicines, not having recent tattoos, and getting enough sleep for more than five hours to ensure the body remains fit throughout the donation process.

At the end of the event, donors received donor cards, blood supplement tablets, and gift packages as tokens of appreciation from the Indonesian Red Cross of DKI Jakarta Province. This program is expected to help people who need blood for medical purposes while spreading kindness and positive impact. The regular blood donation agenda organized by KSR PMI UNJ is also expected to bring meaningful change and attract greater participation from various groups, including UNJ students.
